I've had this pressing for more than 15 years, and I've never liked the sound quality of it.
I just purchased the 12" 45rpm pressing today. I've heard great things about this new pressing / reissue (Made in Czech Republic- sticker on the back) I've been really impressed at the quality coming out of that plant lately. -
I honestly think people's issues with these two in-between releases are overblown, though they are not very dynamic imo. Super solid!

This vinyl is fine... it's not that much different sounding from the CD and feels pretty compressed but I'm ok with it. Quiet and clear enough, and maybe a tad better on the lows? A little muddy in places. I don't think the experience can beat high end digital with a good pair of cans. The artwork is nice and abstract and the smaller size of the LPs is something different. 3.5 out of 5 stars pressing in my book for this classic.

Great record. Unfortunately, I've cleaned this with Tergikleen and a vacuum based RCM, still has a ton of surface noise that is indeed quite distracting. Hoping an ultrasonic clean will help one day.

The dynamics are incredible. The bass sounds rich and warm. No surface noise or anything negative to say about mine.

AVOID THIS PRESSING AT ALL COSTS. I've never heard any other vinyl pressings of Amnesiac, but this sounds like it was cut from a CD (it probably was) and the sound was so bad I had to return it to the record store. I know this might sound like hyperbole, but it's seriously that bad. Get the newer XL 12" pressing instead.

Got this yesterday - first play through had a number of noise during quiet/silent parts even though the record has been properly cleaned. The pops and scuffs are distracting at times - not very happy with the pressing.

My copy sounds amazing. Super quiet floor, I'm very impressed considering all the negative talk about Capitol pressings.
