The digital available release (my came from juno) is a total mess! First of all they confused the titels, second all tracks play with a lot of pops. i bought it as a replacement for my VG copy that also plays with pops. i were seriously disappointed and all the money were wasted.

the "elusive" DJ Mowgly's only release, as the story goes he "met" Empire after a ATR gig and ed him a tape of these three songs. a video was made to promote the song cook and perhaps bring him out of the woodwork but it never happened. later turned out as we now all know it is Alec Empire on his day off, making some fine Jungle. Its a perfect record. plenty of UK sound in this one, and a bit more relaxed and dancefloor friendly compared to some of Empire's work of this era. The best track though is "Mowgly Dub" that sounds like a sunrise before dropping into a wicked Jungle vibe. its a bit pricey now due to its rarity but own it if your an avid Jungle collector.

Oh No!! I don't know jungle..hahaha!
Decent enuf tune but after playing a few times feels over reliant on the hook - has some nice sub arrangements though -
As above, one of the finest jungle records of the era, and undoubtably from outside the UK. Not your averag DHR dancefloor vinyl, but this gem is vital to the record collection of any real jungle dj.

Edited 19 years agoTo me this is THEE jungle record. Honestly, you don't need anything else. This is really the only 12" Alec Empire did in a pure jungle style, but he totally conquered it!
"Cook" is the most catchy jungle track I've ever heard.
And the music video for it is great too. Almost all of the old 1994/95 DHR crew can be seen in the club; DJ Moonraker, Thaddi, Carl Crack, and also Something J and Alec Empire. I wasn't even there but watching it makes you feel like you were. The nostalgia it puts forth is amazing.
This record is a total gem.
If you don't know this record, you don't know jungle.
