Edited 3 years agoAn absolutely miserable "conceptual" album from Madonna. From start to finish, this is an excruciating experience, full of dull ideas and bad storytelling, with vocal credits far more due to autotuners than Madonna herself. One hugely hilarious highlight is God Control, a six-minute anti-marijuana tirade, when just a few years prior, she had marketed her entire persona, not to mention titling an album, after a designer club drug. Whatever you say, grandma. Let's get you to bed.

As a life long Madonna fan, I have tried, and tried, and tried to even like this set, never mind to love it. This is appalling musically and lyrically. It is no surprise to me to see that it is her worst performing release ever. Go back to writing real music girlfriend.

I’ve tried to like it, but it’s not happening. Synthesised vocals. Poor lyrically. Good production, but trying to cram too many sounds into each track. God Control should be a banging disco anthem, but it’s bogged down in unnecessary intro and outro. A simple radio edit would be better. Just seems she’s trying too hard and missing all the marks. If you ever wanted to hear a robot try and sing every genre you may like it! Also miffed how someone so rich is really taking advantage of hardcore fans ripping them off with over priced tosh and pricing fans out of the tour. Nothing new and all forgettable. Madonna how she was and lay this rubbish to rest.

I listened to this album today, half an hour ago actually. Nothing special guys. It's like the two previous albums of Madonna, just random songs to be played in clubs and on the radio. Honestly, the only songs I liked were "Bitch I'm Loca" and "I Don't Search I Find". All the others were bland. Probably "Madame X" will sell lots of copies not for its content but only because it's Madonna's new album.

I think my mam is right about MaDonna, she says she should retire gracefully, maybe with a nice acoustic covers album, rather than continuing to dress up in sexy outfits and compete with Lady Ga-Ga and Milly Cyprus making these ill-judged urban sounds.

When the teaser video appeared online announcing the new album, there was an air of promise this time Madonna won't blow it. Well, she and her most devoted fans believe she didn't - and that's perfectly understandable as "perfectly understandable" goes...
After a downright painful attempt to listen to this album, song by song, the overall impression is Madonna's new album sounds way better and more honest when presented and discussed with her in interviews. In the very songs however, she continues to wander about, and regardless of the overall (and over-the-top) praise, "Madame X" is one hell (in literal sense) of a cosmetic mess, especially augmented by the unbearable presence of auto-tune.

Edited 5 years agoI love this album so much more than her previous two albums. There is no contest, really, because she just seems to be really making this music that moves her in some way. My only disappointment -- as with her albums since the beginning of the millennium is that stopped including the printed lyrics in her albums. I always thought that she is underrated sometimes as a lyricist and I feel excluding the lyrics to the songs shows that maybe she doesn't care so much about them anymore (but I find that with the new album, that's definitely not true). I hate having a beautiful gatefold album cover and there's barely any information included and none of the photos from the deluxe version.

Unexpectedly and surprisingly good! Though both tracks with Maluma - SUCKS! Without autotune the album will be a masterpiece! If it was recorded by Rihanna or someone else with the same age the album likely was praised by everyone and sounded from every corner. But Madonna will be bashed and trashed (sometimes for the right reasons, though...). Anyway, she did a nice and solid job!

There are more vinyl versions of "Madame X'. not listed here. A double vinyl LP "Clear" edition and a limited 1,000 copies edition Two LP set, "Blue" vinyl. The "Blue vinyl" is selling on Ebay now at over 600.00 Dollars. Which I do not think is going to be "Cheaper" down the road. LOL. Like it or not, "Madame X" is number one on every International & domestic Top 100 iTunes album charts today! Next week debut at #1 on Billboard Top 200 album chart. "Sorry"... Haters.
