Aussie music in the 80's was the best it had ever been, some incredible art and many underrated, except maybe for Jason lol Kylie oh yeah and Danii christ lets just have the entire Home and Away and Neighbours cast producing music, it seemed like anything was marketable back then.
Australia was actually able to press some pretty bloody good vinyl, on the world stage i guess it really was regarded as an obscure market bit like winged keels n all, but no less so than the South Korean pressings in my collection.
The airplay this got over our FM stations in the lead up to the release of KICK was setting the tone for INXS rise to fame, wow we were spoilt in the lucky country, without question the era that was never to be repeated with Bob doing yards, you never know what you had till its gone but i was glad to be there, how could you forget 7 foot tall African American servicemen walking around Hay st Mall as a teen they were giants and so was the Aircraft carrier moored in Fremantle. -
Absolutely clinical detail across a large 3D soundstage. Zero sibilance or mud, top shelf mastering to vinyl. Compared to a US 1st, this Aussie OG destroys...you have found the reference pressing for Listen Like Thieves at the time of writing.
