High Life is a dark, brooding Trance track with all the hallmarks which would define M.I.K.E. in the years that followed.
You can just tell his magic touch, even though this is a good 4 years before his breakthrough hits such as Universal Nation.
Gothic pads, sharp acid, aggressive stabs, minor key melodies. In way it's a precursor to later tracks like Monosex.
On the b-side, Cyberactive Zone presents a more ravey vibe (a bit like Cherrymoon Trax). Like the a-side the feeling is dark & aggressive, but this time aligned to an uplifting melody straight out of the M.I.K.E. textbook.
Finally we get the strangely titled "Sexual Freedom". Now this is pure M.I.K.E., you could play it to any Trance fan and they would instantly recognize the sound. Beautiful, uplifting melodies and tight, crisp production.
Unfortunately, it is completely destroyed by way of having samples from a porn movie. Moaning, screaming, shouting things like "oooh I'm gonna cum" etc.

It's impossible to take the track seriously. -
3 different tracks 3 different moods. symply wonderfull and magical, to me this is the best record Mike Dierick made in his career, one of the best records i have ever heard. this record defines progressive house, minimalistic sounds creating a dark and private atmosfear spiked with just the right vocal samples, i finally got my hands on it after 7 years and i'm never gonna get tired of playing it.
