Reviews

Both disks play just fine on my Pioneer internal BDR-S13JX drive. But, the use of black disks is a poor choice.
-
The most deliciously dark album to ever shock the world! With such beautifully bleak anthems such as my most beloved fave "Angel", "Risingson", and "Teardrop", Bristol has never been so embraced with such evil and droll-sounding anthems ever!
Btw, I owned the original CD album before, and I bought the new 20th anniversary edition on iTunes. It's pretty good that the discs of the physical copies have PS1-style undersides - sweet! -
I'm a little late on the review, but, here goes. I bought mine back in 2020. The first time I played Disc 1 in my computer, it made the clicking noises as if trying to recognize a disc. Second attempt, it played fine. Disc 2? Same thing. I figured I'd rip it to my computer, but, it didn't rip Disc 1. Thinking the Discs were defective I quickly ordered another CD from another store. The second CD I ordered arrived, popped Disc 1 in, same thing happens. It took 25 times before it ripped Disc 1. Disc 2, no problem. I put both CD's up, never to put them in my computer again. They both play fine in my CDJ players though. I thought I was the only one, apparently not.

1st time I played it was nice and clean. From second time and on it’s a freaking mess!!! So dissaponted…
Lots of broblems to play cd 1, especially on tracks 10 and 11. -

Edited one year agoDisappointing remaster. Honestly not sure what I expected. There is nothing wrong with this release except the black disc, hmmm. Ultimately, the bonus disc is the reason for those who already have and love this album, and since the remaster is part of the package, well, another different sounding edition.

i have purchased two physical copies of this release, with both having the first disc (the original album) being rejected by my cd ripper. what a shame.

Anyone else having skips and stucks between Group Four and (Exchange)? It's the third CD I bought, all of them with the same problem

Edited 5 years agoI've compared the original and the remaster side by side with foobar2K comparator (never go off memory if you can help it, it's too unreliable) in flac, and they sound barely distinguishable from one another to my ears. Whatever the differences are, they're very subtle, so unless you're absolutely puritanical I think this is a safe buy from a SQ perspective.
I also quite like the presentation of this one, certainly a lot nicer than a jewel case, and the black 'PlayStation' style discs are a great touch to set it apart from a typical CD release. Worth owning! -
This remastering destroy the feeling of the original album. loose the warm, the lush, the depth and the echo of the sound.
Terrible. Avoid!!
