I just got this (from what I can tell) exact issue off the big A for a really good price, slightly over $30US. So thats all good. But their description claimed that it came with a 2 cd digipack version of the LPs as well.
"The release is accompanied by a double CD in a digi-pack edition with both LP and CD containing sleeve notes by drummer Ric Lee."
Well, mine has no CDs, nor any mention anywhere of any such bonus. Now I checked discogs and I do not see any listing for such a beast either.
Has anyone seen this supposed release, 3 LPs plus 2 CDs in their own separate digi pack? Strange. I am going to spin the album tomorrow and if it comes up to my expectations, I will probably just keep it otherwise I will probably return it. But I am kind of disappointed at being promised one thing and delivered another.
Kinda bait-eth and switch-ish.
Just letting others know in case you get tempted by the same description.

Edited one year agoPeter Mew has, as any good mastering engineer, his very own way of doing it. I've read that some folks don't like his, well... I do like it a lot, the Instruments are sounding super-natural, especially the sound of Ric Lee's drums is phenomenal!!! It's not just a superb showcase of Ten Years After live in their peak period, but one of the really great live-in-concert releases in general. I.M.H.O., of course...
Pressing by Optimal is of the usual high standard as well, really nothing to complain about, just 'optimal' in its purest meaning...
Had it in CD for a long time, if you'll find a vinyl copy for a good price - do not hesitate... -
Just finished listening to The Stones Brussels Affair Live from 1973 that came with the Goat Head 2020 remaster. One of their tops live act, but not very happy with the vinyl: pops and cracks and hisses. So THIS Abbey Road Studio remastered Ten Years After from 1970 sounded absolutely fabs. All 144 minutes of pure, clean, distortion free soundscape. German press, btw.

The Recording is ADD.
New records are often/mostly DDD.
Analog ist the reason why records sound better than CDs.
This sound on this LP is...wow, ....dont know the word.... great.
