Edited 9 months agoSome great moments on this ambient-ish NIN album, but sadly I got two copies of the first press and both were so warped that they were completely unplayable. It seems likely that the lps were still warm when they were put in the double gatefold and then sealed by an over-zealous shrink wrapper so tightly that they warped. I hope the shrink wrapper/machine has learnt a thing or two. It might be better to try to get this one on cd or streaming? -

I like to listen to this album when I've taken LSD because it has a mysterious heaven hell duality going on. Certainly on the top of my playlist, I sometimes compare it to The Beatles White Album for its departure from mainstream repertoire and blatant exhaustion from a life of touring. Quite brilliant.

Edited 9 years agoThe US and UK issues are listed the wrong way round i suspect. The UK issue looks to be just normal gatefold (my copy anyway). As far as i can tell with it being sealed. The US issue is listed as the normal gatefold but i think the US version is the 4 . All the pictures and cover differences are correct in both but the gatefold/4 description is wrong i think.
