Edited 4 years agoFirst heard some of these tracks on CiTR Vancouver, taped them onto my Walkman and listened back as I read the paperback of Burning Chrome on an airline that no longer exists. Found the original AS 5029 pressing not long after and it still plays beaut after 3 (!) decades.
It's still a strong outing for this era of EBM/Industrial. The snares grabbed me then, and still do - anyone have a positive ID on which drum machine this is? Verhaegen's brass is a nice tribute to Cosey's cornet work, and overall he adds a bit of spookiness to the album without squishing Bill doing his thing. This is a collaboration which enhances the work of both artists - it's more consistent than Caustic Grip, but free of the slightly florid touches Tactical Neural Implant introduced.
Agitate is a strong single for the era, and the 12" mix is on the CD. Disease is the standout track for me, slightly subdued, but killer beats and that break...
