In my opinion the best of GSH. I think I ve listened 157 times if not more. This copy sounds really well!

If anyone has just a sleeve, or an absolutely ruined disc copy with a decent sleeve, then please hit me up.

If you're a fan of his political raps, skip right to "B" Movie, and follow that up with Inner City Blues. The rest is jazz funk, emphasis on the funk.

This is one of Gil Scott Heron's most "complete" albums a friend of mine used to say years ago. After listening to most of his other albums I have to agree. For the early eighties as well, I think its one of my favourite Gil Heron Scott albums. My favourite track is gun, still so relevant today. His version of inner city blues is performed so naturally. There are no "duff" tracks on this album, B movie, Grandma's hands, is that jazz, nearly every track is fire. Apart from the mid 70's this is one of his most consistent band line up's, very tight cohesive and soulful playing even though it's quite a jazzy album. For lovers of good soulful jazzy vibes with burning social commentry.
