This release was to be a companion single to the George And James album -- however, no one knew this, as The Residents kept the contents of this 7" record a secret until just prior to pressing. It's a Man's Man's Man's World is a James Brown song which does not appear on George And James; Safety is a Cootie Wootie is an unrelated track which was recorded prior to George And James, and was also released on TRA magazine in Japan.
The White Single was originally released on white vinyl, with a blue "iris" label, in a transparent plastic sleeve with red veins -- the package clearly designed to look like a giant eyeball.
