Gary Moore – Wild Frontier

This CD sounds better than any vinyl release I've heard so far. But "Thunder Rising" is still quieter than the rest of the songs. But still an absolutely enjoyable version of this masterpiece.

I have the edition printed in West by TOPAC and sounds good. I would like it les compressed but okay it still better than cd even it is probably digital too.

Ambiguous album. Music is interesting, but it is unlikely to become a favorite in discography

It's beyond any reason and understanding to release such a bad pressing. I have the greek original 1987 version and i've tried both the UK and US versions of this year as well. While all of them sound nearly identical, they're suffering in the production and mastering parts, with alot of unwanted compression and distortion. The tracks A3 and B3 both have a very low output, compared to the others. The remastered cd versions (>2002) fixed only the A3 track. Anyway, i had the hope that the 2017 version would have take care of all those issues, but it seems that they tried to reduce the loudness using more compression, so the result is worst than the 1987 vinyl versions. It's a great record, still screaming for a decent mastering. Until then, like Livewire91 comments, AVOID THIS VERSION!

This release needs a high volume, was really low volume when i played it on my normal setting. Quite a thin sound too i would avoid this one, pressing was ok after wet cleaning that is. I will a original pressing instead. AVOID THIS ONE!
