The Orb – Blue Room

A 57 minutes extended edit version of The Orb's Blue room (1992) with several weird samples underlying the Orb's music. In fact, I have used more than 50 voice samples and extended the track from 34 minutes to 57 minutes with the awesome basslines of The Orb and studio wizardry of Kris Weston. I will remove it upon request. NO LSD was used during this process.

A bloody trip for the ears and minds, awesome stuff here!!!!!

I spent a lot of my 20’s in various blissful states of mind listening to The Orb. This safe blue space was exceptionally healthy for the expanded mind, in comparison to the ridiculously heavy psychological experiences kids experience today. It has a melancholy that was perfect for a safe landing.

Anyone know why the 40 minute version has not been rereleased is it samples etc.

So ecstatically entranced with this timeless and groundbreaking immersion into parallel dimensions of otherworldy sound that I bent a personal guideline and picked up a record where one glorious long piece of music has been hacked in two. It was well worth it. Any different angle into this listening experience is most highly recommended. It's a lovely pressing and I don't mind the need to flip the thing over or the missing minute of the music. I know it's still out there.

The Frank De Wulf remix of Blue Room is outstanding, a joy for both ears and feet.

Possibly my favourite ever Orb track, 45 minutes of pure transcendent beauty. I only have this disc but weirdly it’s in the other CD sleeve with the more purple cover? The music is part KLF (Space/Chill Out) throwback which makes it more divine but with that early Orb ‘earthiness’ that made ‘Huge evergrowing…’ so magical.
From a time when there were briefly no barriers and everything was new and fresh.
Mixing up gorgeous ambient (that intro!) dub bass manoeuvres, cut up voices and fx drift in and out, lysergic guitar work, ambient house and pretty much the kitchen sink thrown in.
Nothing near this around today sadly, like a mixtape beamed in from Jupiter.
I’ll never sell my copy. Ever.

The BR Remix with 7m37s is on of the best of all the versions you can buy.
The others are sometimes more bits, pieces and excerpts.
Sure, the full length version is a journey you should enjoy too.

Absolute A grade material - just buy it and enjoy.
