sounds beautiful and detailed, the 45rpm cut really makes the dynamics pop and the mixing surrounds your ears so well

Record arrived pretty dusty, however after it was wiped off, I was met with a gorgeous sounding pressing. 45rpm really accentuates the beautiful production this album boasts, and it's probably one of the best sounding pressings in my collection. Only problem after cleaning is that there are a handful of pops and clicks scattered about, but it's nothing that destroys the music, and given its nature it may add to it a bit as well.

sounds very good and vibrant to my ears. especially after a good cleaning. only gripe is that LP1 is a bit warped, not enough to effect playback though fortunately, but just enough to make u feel a little nervous watching it wave a bit at 45 RPM. i saw someone else mention one of their LPs was warped as well so i'm curious if it's a common issue or if there's only an unlucky few? still, if it plays it stays and so on!!! incredible album, glad it's now in my collection

Edited one year agosounds wildly good, incredible range, dead silent, but oh my god make sure your gain is down if you're using a sensitive preamp. almost blew my speakers out on some of the ambient lows/mids.
I had to cut my gain way down into negative dB for the first time ever on a setup that i've been using for years and played hundreds of records -
Run-in groove on side one has some nasty right-channel distortion. A sort of scratching sound. Not fun. The first owl hoot in Bros also makes my needle skip because of how loud it is. These seem like problems I might be able to fix myself. Anyone got any advice?
Also, the card links to a version of the album with significantly higher dynamic range. Bros for example has gone from DR6 on the CD version, to DR13. I was stunned. -
Edited one year agoI was able to pick up the last "blem" copy on the site and not only can I not find any blemishes, it arrived in better condition than most records I buy online. So glad to finally own this, beautiful pressing of one of the best records of the 2000s.

It really does sound fantastic, like everyone here said.
Another thing to notice is the difference in colors and overall dimensions of the artwork - it’s strikingly different from my VMP copy.
Downside: for whatever reason, my disc 1 is a bit warped… there’s a clear bump while it’s spinning on my turntable. Any of you noticed something similar? (This is the only reason I don’t give it a 5-star rating) -
Edited 2 years agoWow have always been in the camp that finds this album a unique classic and this reissue really does it justice. Really nice gatefold and insert, spacious and deep cut from Matt Colton and pressed on black vinyl which I personally prefer over the VMP variant. Can't go wrong here if you're a fan of this album, truly one of Noah's crowning achievements

I'd never actually heard this album before. But I really love AnCo so I knew I'd like it. At first I was like "whoa this is way too distorted and freaky" until like 30 seconds after the vocals came in when I realized that this wasn't just Panda Bear being a little freak but rather that I was playing it at the wrong speed. Nowhere on the album does it say it's a 45. It was really great when I listened to it at the correct speed, though.

Edited one year agoSo I finally pulled the trigger on this and it is definitely superior to my 2009 repress. The sound is clearer, deeper and "bouncier". Not an absolutely "game changer" as I was expecting but pretty damn excellent to my ears. Flat records with no scuffs or skips. This masterpiece deserved the gatefold and the upgraded 45 rpm treatment. Play it loud!
