I have this however my disc has made in Austria not Japan and it is blue and silver . Anyone know what version mine is . Disc is EPC 450257-2 and cover is 450257-2.

Edited 3 years agoThe sound is nice enough, no detectable difference to any earlier release - however the cover is disgustingly CHEAP and glossy, like a photocopy with a useless single page insert. Not gatefold like the original UK copy. I don't think any thought went into this at all. Just bang it out whatever. As a result the packaging is AWFUL and it renders this release as an AVOID.
Buy the original vinyl. it's at least proper. -
Edited 4 years agoThe only advantage here over the original UK vinyl release is that it's on new 180g vinyl so it's quiet.
The actual sound is otherwise identical as this is a reissue, not a remaster.
The cover is glossy photocopy or print out, it looks cheap and nasty compared the commercial print quality of the original vinyl.
Instead of the original gatefold design you get the inside photos on a pathetic looking single sheet insert. It just wreaks of 'cheap'.
After seeing the cheap cover I bought copies of all the original UK vinyls.. -
Edited one year agoMOV are very hit and miss, but this is a fairly decent effort. Faithful artwork and solid soundstage - though a little bit bright for my taste. Sibilance is the major downside to this remaster.

Pressing is very good, flat and apart from one loud pop is extremely quiet. Mastering gives this some nice punch too, but without swamping the original production. However the nature of the mixed vinyl pressing does mean some look great (white with clear bubbles/areas) whilst others, like mine, are more undefined swirling and some annoying black smudges - tad disappointing.

excellent sound ! ;o) good pressage
music on vinyl has not good reputation but honestly this one is really good -
Limited colored MOV pressing coming soon! Don’t sleep: Youthquake sold out on pre-order really quickly!

What claimed my attention of this album was the iconic picture resemblance from The Damned's album "Phantasmagoria" with the model Susie Bick posing at Brompton Cemetery, taken by genius photographer Bob Carlos Clarke. In this Dead or Alive album, Clarke also made a picture in the same location (but in another site) to Pete Burns in a more o less similar attitude.

I made a review about the youthquake bonus track version & what versions are on it. So I will do the same about this album.
Mad bad & dangerous to know was the 3rd album by dead or alive. A lot of people probably skipped sophisticated boom boom & think this is the 2nd. This was the 2nd & last album produced by SAW & for a lot was the last album by them. There sadly was no bonus track Version released but a box set was just released with all the B-sides & everything else like that. This album had better song writing & the songs all went together pretty good. Was it as good as youthquake? To me it was ether a match or youthquake wins by a little. Brand New Lover & other hits fame from this album showing that the band was going towards a more pop sound then sticking to the gothic disco sound. I would say the cover was probably the only thing gothic, & maybe the song something in my house. You take that song off the album & it would have to have a different title & cover most likely. Now let's go over the versions & if the single versions are on this album or not.
Brand New Lover - now it uses the 12" Version. This 12" music video was pretty much the same as the album version, so even tho there are 2 12" mixes this is technically a 3rd mix. The album version is just the dust monkeys mix but it's edited down to fit into the album.
I'll save you all my kisses - pretty much is the same as the single Version, but has a different intro. The single version used the intro like the 12" mixes & was edited down from them. The album mix & single version aren't that different.
Something In My House - now this is the oddest version. The mix on the album version is about 7 minutes long & there was a Edit made of this version for a 7" US promo. The song was remixed a lot like my Heart Goes Bang & even had the same Remix name (the US Wipeout Mix). However it wasn't rerecorded like my Heart & used the same vocals as the album version.
Hooked on Love - Like in Too Deep this only had 1 12" Remix also. The version on the album is pretty much the same as the single version. Since the box set just got released it had the single version, an edit & a 7" Remix which wasn't released until this year. So I'm not sure really what the real single version is but the music video uses the album version just slightly edited.
So pretty much you get versions that are very close to the single versions. Something In My House is really the only song on the album version that isn't an it's single version, because it was remixed so much. Also son of a gun was a single only in japan. It had an edit of come Inside which took out the beginning where it was attached to then there was you. Both songs continued into each other, so it made since that they edit that out. Also I want you was remixed & put on a come home with me baby single. I think the new box set lists it as an edit or single version, so maybe it was gonna be a single, but they changed it or something. It uses a slightly different instrumental, it's really not that different from the album version.
