This pressing is quite good, take of sound is good but the soundscape is poor.
This record has an advantgeous covert art, songs are quite good too.

This is an absolute classic, Half Moon Bay is a jam. Highly recommend this band, which by the way, was saved from obscurity by David Bowie. Enjoy!

After a strong first side (of covers by Ray Davies, Doug Sahn, and Sonny Bono plus a Hunter original), side 2 kind of starts to fizzle out after "Rock & Roll Queen". It's an okay album recorded in 1969 and not very well by the sound of it. This pressing by GZ media isn't very good either with sporadic clicks and crackles. I didn't wet clean the record before putting it on my turntable because a brand-new mint record shouldn't need cleaning. My, how complacent we have become. If every second record isn't warped, then it's a shitty pressing with crap in the grooves... and we put up with it. I don't have an original copy to compare this with (only a CD) but to me this recording sounds a bit muddy and cacophonous. I think this record has a better reputation than it deserves. I won't be playing it much.

I doubt this is 1970 pressing... there's a w logo on label and I guess it came later on

Nice example of 1970 hard rock genre, track A2 is ballad style.

The timings stated on here are wildly inaccurate and need amending.

Does Ian Hunter sing Lead Vox on track 9? It says "Ian Hunter- Lead Vocals 1- 8. That is INcorrect, right? Thanks!

In addition to what's mentioned in the Notes section, EVERY song on this withdrawn version is a different mix compared to the official version. A total collector's dream. Road To Birmingham is an early stereo mix without overdubs that were added for Two Miles From Heaven lp. Also note there is a 2nd withdrawn version with Side 2 updated with Rock And Roll Queen and the common Side 2 mixes but Side 1 is the withdrawn original mix
