Ultravox – Systems Of Romance

This album is a jewel and this particular pressing has a very decent sound. After some years I was listening to it, and just realised that the Blue Light lyrics' is the only one that is not included on the insert of this pressing. And, as someone else has stated, John Foxx's Ultravox is the best version of this band!

i enjoy the entire album and much prefer this version of the band to what came later...and i have never understood why Maximum Acceleration wasn't a gigantic hit...can't get past it - this was song of the year imo...

If any representative from Ultravox reads this, please can I/we have deluxe boxsets of the three Foxx Vox classics ? Same style and layout as the Vienna, Eden, Quartet deluxes, please. Id pay NOW if such a thing existed.

And the album itself? What everyone else has said. Its a milestone. Essential listening if you’re a fan of late 70s post punk.

this pressing lacks detail; treble sounds rolled off, more like cassette sq; kind of sad considering it came out of Conny Plank's studio; album is no doubt influential, but the music here is only a preview of better albums that cam later, imo

Best sounding CD of this seminal album. I find the later remasters over compressed and flaky. I play the original UK vinyl regularly and to my ears this CD sounds the closest to the record. Nice full sound. No clipping, just a richness and widescreen soundstage.

Played this album recently, not listened to it for some many years. Pretty much got into the groove once Slow Motion had got going and by the time Just For A Moment was fading, the verdict was that this album is solid all the way through. Still enjoyed it a lot. No weak tunes and most very good, though would love to of seen Hiroshima Mon Amour on it, maybe replacing Some Of Them (weakest tune IMO). Reckon it would of been good to see live with Foxx front man, (before he splits). I wonder how much Connie Plank influenced it?

It's not bad. It seems like I need to turn it up a little in my stereo compared to other vinyl. Clear sound, though.

I wonder why the "Full Version" of 'Quiet Men' (track 12) is 16 seonds shorter than the 16 seconds longer, supposedly not as full, version at track 6...

Great press and a historical album that paved the way for Electronic music. This is the album that inspired Gary Numan,, need I say more?
