Will pay reasonably for a nice original cover, got a nice disc in a generic sleeve.
SOLID psych-funk-rock IF you haven't heard. My OG sounds nice as far as sound levels and production, no pressing complaints given the content. -
This was not an audiophile production to begin with. These guys probably scraped their gig money together to knock out the tracks in a few hours and then a few more hours to mix. Pairs well with first 3 Funkadelics, Black Merda, Chains and Black Exhaust and Function Underground.

Edited 2 years agoIncredible pressing! This is the one to get. Full rich sound and clear mids and highs. Huge soundstage and great imaging. Feels like they're in the room. Great cover art too! So glad I got this one.
System: Ar3 speakers, Technics deck with Grace f9 cart and Soundsmith ruby stylus. -
This pressing sounds quite good with little surface noise, but it is the quietest record I own. I have to turn up my stereo twice as loud as I normal have it for vinyl playback. It is an incredibly quiet master. This means if you do have any surface noise or crackles they are extremely loud in comparison to the music. Overall a great package and sonically solid release, just very quiet. The artwork looks amazing.

A little disappointing the volume is so low on this re-issue and a little flat sounding too.

I can't believe this piece is in my collection, and in NM- condition no less. -

Totally agreed with previous reviewers. pretty dubious mastering job. if there're no pops and clicks, people wouls think it's being played on crappy website streaming. I don't even feel like comparing with Spotify paired with Chromecast Audio.
wish someone gave more attention to the mastering and Pressing job. what's more? my copy has 5mm scratch on 4th track and vinyl is not flat. thanks god. at least it plays. -
Edited 2 years agomix sounds really clean and clear, but its way too quiet. pressing job blows. its 180g vinyl, but my copy is dish warped to all hell coming right out of the sleeve. and the lead in on the B side has some swooshy/fuzzy vinyl noise that repeats on every revolution until about a minute into the first track. i'll definitely be hanging on to my Spiral Groove LP until fate deals me an affordable Map City OG. HA!!

how can this be listed as a proper release when it hasn't been released yet, and it is dated as being released 5 weeks away from the day I write this??
