The music videos definitely aren’t in 5.1. Its a beautiful box, well thought. I wish there was a surround boxset part 2 with the albums that came after this
-
These should still be in print. The surround mixes are mind-blowingly great. I wish that Biophilia to Utopia were mixed in 5.1 as well.

Edited 12 years agoOn the Homogenic-DVD (5.1 DTS-Format) you can find only the "All is full of Love (Mark Stent & Marius Defries Radio Mix)" - Video Version (Time: 04:48).
Original-Album-Version of "All is full of Love" is not contain! -
As a huge fan of both Björk and multichannel surround music, I had to buy every 5.1 release from Miss Gudmundsdottir.
I have been listening to many surround mixes from various artists, and my feelings are mixed regarding those Björk albums.
Mr. Paul 'P-Dub' Walton has done a wonderful job on one hand, but that could have been much better on the other. I think he has succeeded in creating a rich and deep world of sounds with all the instruments. But I really think he has more than once messed up the vocals. The balance has not been met.
The best example for this is on almost every song of "Homogenic". Björk's main vocals (I am not talking about background vocals here) come out of all five speakers at the same time which, instead of adding depth to the mix, creates confusion for the listener. The voice in surround mixing has to be located on the front stage in order to get a logical sound scene. It's OK to put background vocals everywhere, but not the main vocals.
Furthermore, if your sound system is not calibrated 100% right, you'll get the feeling that Björk's voice is located more in one speaker than the others.
I know that vocals don't have to be located on the center speaker all the time for music, unlike movies, but that doesn't mean that there is no standard to apply when mixing a record for surround sound purpose.
