Ambrose Slade – Beginnings

Hi EriktheViking .............The UK Promo is not from 1969, it is some type of Re-issue / Bootleg / Counterfeit from the mid 1970's......... I bought a Mint copy at a Slade Convention for £40.00 in the late 90's & when I compared it with the Original Issue I also have, the record just did not look or feel right, with different type of card for the sleeve, additionally, all the other BIG Slade collectors from all over the UK & Europe said it was a re-issue or bootleg / counterfeit.
Finally, you have to use your common sense..........why would it only be worth £40.00 from a record dealer at a Slade Convention and why is the highest price sold on Discogs only about £21.00........... Now this so called Promo, would have been far rarer if it were genuine and therefore more expensive than the issue., but it's not.... why not ?

Having said that, you are correct it is hell rare ! probably worth around £100.00 now

Apparently it was originally was going to be called "GENESIS" with promo sets of labels printed, I seeing a set at a Slade convention many years ago; they were owned by a collector who lived in the Wigan area.
At some point it was decided to change it to Beginnings, either way it's a great album.

The person who had the idea of using the stupid American cover/title should have their head examined. Some decisions are just impossible to understand.

My copy came with a terrible dish warp. Would have been nice to have the original uk sleeve with this reissue.

Incredible..RSD release and not the original UK cover which is a thousand times better than this vulgar USA cover

This is a bootleg or unofficial release from the mid 1970's

this was a nice release back in 06, i was pleased at that time that the airmail label did the slade catlog, this mini cd as well as the whole catlog up to the 1980s was done in japan, these mini lp sleeves that faithfully replicated the original uk lps, these are now long out of print, they sound great so if you really love slade and want any obscure gems by them and you enjoy the cd media format then i reccomend these over the uk reissues from 06 and 07 as all of these have the same bonus tracks......

Why and how, has this got a sticker on the shrink wrap?
