Dr. Dre – 2001

Excellent mix and mastering. Cut extremely hot but still sounds great.

Really good pressing. Little to no surface noise and really good sound quality.
The discs feel heavy and the jacket is sturdy.
You also get a credits sheet with some artwork.

I missed the first (unannounced) run and wasn’t subscribed to IVC for the small restock (because I wasn’t about to drop $50 on Chief Keef just to have a CHANCE at getting 2001). Thankfully found a flawless sealed copy on eBay for $70 total, just about what Interscope sold it for initially ($54.99 plus tax and shipping). Certainly more than I'd have liked to spend on one album, but from packaging to mastering, it IS easily the definitive pressing of 2001. Got IVC’s The Chronic as well, here’s to hoping they do a 10th Anniversary Edition of Compton.

Why not making it Numbered? Such a wasted opportunity imo

This pressing sounds incredible—honestly the best I've ever heard, and no surprise since it was mastered at BG! Don’t miss out on it; the sound is so clean and sharp, it feels like you're right there in the studio with them

I bought this and the vinyls and brown and purple/grey. The code on the sleeve brought me here, are they fake?

There have to be much better sounding masters of this album. It’s well-pressed and quiet with very good separation in the mids and highs, but as others have said, the bass is seriously lacking. No separation between basslines and bass drums, no texture on either, just a mess. Turning up the sub and/or system does nothing. Very disappointing, especially given the gut-wrenching bass on some of the recent Doggy Style remasters.

This album is a great album. I highly recommend it
