John Coltrane – Kulu Sé Mama

I just found this copy, but it has a gatefold cover. Is this the right cover? Sincerest thanks in advance to anyone who knows!

Sometimes it's a long journey get in to an album. The first time I listened to Kulu Sé Mama, I didn't know how to sort this in. The more often I listened to it, the more I began hating it. I never got it. I always said to myself, at some point....
And one day I put the record on, and... WOW! What a fantastic album this is! It took it's time, but this is a real gem.

Just picked up what looks to be this version but without 'STEREO' printed on the label. Anyone else come across this or am I confusing with another version? Everything else seems to tie up.

The CD is actually orange, the red on pictures is some sort of scanner artefact.

Another pointless reissue with pleeenty of better sounding pressings in ample quantities....
Who buys this modern tack over some decent 70s audio engineering?!

A misses GEM in the Coltrane-Pharoah spiritual approaches to music. THis music is about understanding where GOD wanted them to be as musicians...spiritual protest in a world that was simmering in it's own juices. During this era of Jazz music in the elite musicians environment.... if someone had to explain the approach to you...you weren't spiritually there as music is the international language like L.O.V.E. I bet you Coltrane died just in time so he would not have to experience what society is going through now: Racism and Wantonness in all aspects of life including blasphemous music that is being produced today! This is a hard to find album in the sense that it had zero commercial appeal and was not for those consumers who did not seek understanding of music in it's spiritual essence. Recall the times: late 60's Malcolm and Martin were assassinated and many musicians and black intellects like James Baldwin and WEB Du bois had quit America and were living in and Africa. So this album and period of Black Expression was frankly quitting America and going to where their spiritual ancestors resided....in the other WORLD!
