A brilliant album by Carole King and her band. Let’s not forget about the great musicians (Daniel Kortchmar - guitar, Charles Larkey - bass guitar, Jim Gordon - drums) and the producer of this album (Lou Adler) without whom the timeless, unique atmosphere of this album would not exist. A masterpiece.
-
Could be one of the greatest semi-psychedelic post-folk rock project bands of the late-‘60s & basically Carole King's first solo album & nearly as good Tapestry featuring exceptionally tight ensemble playing, fantastic arrangements by Lou Adler creating a brilliant mix of torch songs, up-tempo soulful stuff, shades of country, jazz & R&B
A ‘60s sophisticated soft rock-pop masterpiece.
BTW - Yes I believe this may be a PROMO COPY from ODE and not a BOOTLEG. Sound & product quality very good. -
The personnel on this album are almost the same as the album with "I Feel The Earth Move", so if you like that Carole King, you will like her efforts on this album;

This is the way all repressings should be done - flat, centered, quiet, and impeccable sound. Gateway cover and inserts are exceptional as well. Thank you, Light In The Attic, for an amazing release for all Carole King fans.

I have a copy of the colour cover/yellow label, and a copy of this B&W sleeve, white label. There is absolutely no doubt whatsoever that the B&W copy is real as well. The source for this being a counterfeit is an old price guide, and frankly, it's wrong. Let's put this myth to bed!

I would also like to add my voice to this. I have been collecting records for 40+ Years now. I have a very nice copy of this and I can tell you by the Cardboard cover this is a professional release from ODE + with Matrix #'s same as Colored Cover. LP is same weight and label placement. Sound quality top notch. I have always believed this to be a PROMO COPY from ODE and not a BOOTLEG as so many believe. Just my two cents.......

Edited 3 years agoNormally boots don't have deadwax info like this pressing does but all that aside, this pressing sounds fantastic! A nice 3D soundstage here. There is NO way this is a boot.
-
Do we have any sources saying this is a counterfeit? I have a copy that was signed by the band and it has a cut corner. Why would an unofficial have a cut corner?
