Simply Red – Picture Book

Record is silent with no pops or clicks. There could have been more low tones, that's for sure, and clearer high tones,or span of the sound could have been wider. Not close to the reissue of the A new flame, which is impeccable ! But for a price of only 20 who could ask for more.

This was a recent purchase right here on discogs made in the u.k and all went v/well,as for the record it sold as N/M and plays like one.
Sound quality wise you`d be hard pushed to get a better sounding mid 80`s pop LP than "Picture book",all acoustic band with a fine vocalist and well written songs,in fact there isn`t really any "filler" here so the album follows really well.
Highs ,mids and (especially) low-end (bass) is Excellent no harshness,no sibilance,no bolate just pure sublime music!

As a 10 year old, absolutely hated this kind of music when it came out at that time. Now, the album has a lot of lows imho, but the highs are just so so good. I’ve evolved.

Played my copy this morning. Still sounds very good. Like having an OG pressing.

This record was one of the records when a few friends made a trip through Europe back in 1985.The song Holding back the years still makes me shiver when I think of all the good times we had for 3 and half month.I guess this will never be repeated with all this SHIT going on in the world right now.Anyway a VERY good album indeed.

This Bernie Grundman remaster is very good as far as remasters go.
Great definition, detail & dynamics with little to no compression or 'etchiness'.
I'm caught between surprised & impressed👍

Audiophile recording of some of the most tepid and banal music of the 80's.

I have 3 copies of this:
RCA Club, SP press (this listing), and a German Alsdorf press. They all skip, especially first track on both sides. Annoying.
I bought the RCA Club last but, without runouts listed--and I didn't ask--I got another SRC press. It is fantastic music though, and the cover is, I dunno, Rockwellish, cool?

This sounds fantastic. I have the 1992 remaster and that sounds cold in comparison.
