The Stranglers – Black And White

Got mine when album first came out - EP was bright white and it is now sludge pink. It is what it is, despite the SHOUTING.

Further to the discussion here about the U.S. copies ... I just scooped up a near mint U.S. copy in a rural town in western Canada ... with shrink and stickers as shown here. Looked at the record in the store and it looked perfect (despite difficulty telling condition with the grey marbled colour) and bought it, but didn't notice until I got home that the white 7" EP was also in there - just as described here. Produced in England. Take it for what it's worth, but as described here, the "Free 9" 7" EP was not available individually and was added to UK and U.S. import copies as available.

My copy has same side 2 etchings but side 1 is UAK 30222 A-5U A PORKY PRIME CUT

Side A is cut by HTM (Harry Moss from Abbey Road)

The matrix identifier for the cutting engineer which people have written 1+ Symbol M is in fact HTM (Harry T Moss) the EMI cutting engineer.

Great sounding CD but bizarrely has track listing errors with Rise of the Robots and In the Shadows in the wrong order

On 'Death And Night And Blood (Yukio)', you can hear an extra clip / cut of guitar at the end that wasn't edited off this particular master.

My side B runout (on the album) has "GAL" before the "PECKO". My side A runout matches the first variant of this pressing.

saw this album for cheap so many times i assumed it wasnt good. i was wrong. easily my favorite.

Just picked this up in my local used record shop, was sure it was a first press but when checked on discogs discovered it was this misprint version with the white side having a black label and the black side having a white label. Doesn't really make any difference but a nice little rarity to have. Really nice pressing, super quiet and sounds great.
