In two years this song of DM celebrates it's 40th birthday. I just recently listened to the different mix, which is still such a banger after 38 years! Layer of layer of new unheard sounds incorporating the "standards" (piano, bell), thanks to the then new sampling method. Construction Time Again was just the beginning of DM and sampling. With this single and the album SGR Depeche with Miller & Jones evolved their production method of using new unheard sounds. And the b-side is one of favourite DM songs by Alan "Slick" Wilder.
So, PaP reached #1 in ... looking back I think, how could that happen? It's not really a dance track, it is not that quite catchy like the tune before (Alphaville-Big In Japan) or the one after (Real Life-Send Me An Angel). Well, a mystery to me. Their next #1 in was Dream On in 2001.

Excellent sounding single and remix. Nice strong mastering and great pressing. Recommended.
