Something that none of the other reviews talk about: I was under the impression that this EP is the leftovers of what the Just a Souvenir sessions were before he had his "vision" that led to the direction of the album. Basically a glimpse at what the album would've been if the coat-hanger dream never happened. At any rate it's worth buying for the closing track alone. Hands down the best "rave" song I've heard in awhile. Not that I'm actually sure what sub-genre it's trying to be, I just know it would blow minds at a rave. -

Great basswork, funky rhythms. One to seek out, even for people not a fan of the "live" funk of Just a Souvenir. -

On the occasion of new Squarepusher album, "Ufabulum/Enstrobia" I've recently made a mixtape containing what I consider the highlights of his discography (not too seriously taken, of course). To my surprise, after exporting the audio: of 13 tracks I put in the mix 3 are from Numbers Lucent. Makes you think. -

Despite almost the same artwork & packaging as "Just a Souvenir" it is quite different music. Squarepusher abandoned jazz/rock theme in favour of good ol' d'n'b rhythms interacting with his genius bass melodies. The speed & stutter is almost the same as on the great "Big Loada". This is gonna be probably one of my favourite records of 2009. I recommend it especially to people who disliked "Just a Souvenir" (i liked it tho), it's good ol' squarepusher as its best. -

I'd count this as part of the 'Souvenir' album.. Could call it Disc 2, I guess. This 12" represents the rave-ish side of things with the 4-4 & acid lines + some nice amen mish mash & other classic breaks and synth stabs.
Not quite as genius maybe, but it does mirror and then amplify the 'Souvenir' album's intensity, especially for the breakbeat fans.
File the 2 x LP together as 1.
