Edited 8 years agoHearing new music you always hear it through new ears... Just heard this last week...
Mind blown... And I know this will not be temporary!
As a teenager I was too busy with the new sound of Hip Hop and Electro...
I used to hear my mum blasting alot of sounds on the 4AD label and like Kevin The Teenager IT JUST WASN'T COOL Hmmmmphhhhh!..
But now... Well thats a whole different story!
I always loved the weirdness of New Beat..
And now Im discovering why!
I love Anne Clark's cold vocals... Reminds me of No UFO'S by Juan Atkins..
Coupled with the wavy sounds from David Harrow it's an eargasm...
My ears are once again renewed!
Blimey! What a difference a couple of decades makes...
P.s. Also I wonder if Kate Tempest has ever heard of Anne Clark? -
The Club mix is a kind of cheesy rework of the original, with that typical retro bassline which became very common lately. Marco Remus´ mix is a slamming hard techno jam with Anne Clarke´s great vocal over the top.

Anne Clark was quite big in the early eightees among fans of electronic music. This was not because of her self-centered poetry and refusal to sing or even use any kind of human expression in her voice, but because of David Harrow's brilliant synth-pop. When their collaboration ended, her success ended as well, which kinda prooves my point.
