Notes
Originally released in 1986, this grouping assembles all variations of "The Age of Quarel" album.
The first US retail pressings have beige center labels and the old Profile Records logo. Some of those copies have a black "censored" stamp printed on the dust sleeve and some have none. Later pressings have black labels, the new Profile logo and a white "censored" stamp on the dust sleeve.
Both have the same matrix inscriptions etched into the runout groove.
Rumour has it that the stamp was the bands idea to point out the cruelty of the scene pictured.
The album was repackaged on CD in 1994, along with its 1989 follow-up "The Age Of Quarrel / Best Wishes".

The band has never gotten residuals from this album, nor the numerous rereleased editions. Harley is quite vocal about telling fans not to buy these. -

I own both this and the DJ promo cut... Inclined to say this is the better sounding pressing out of the two. Classic record either way, but this is the way to go for the best sound! -

It sounds great. The separation of instruments gives better insight in why this is such a fantastic album. It's especially the drums which are top notch. I had this album on a cassette for the past 26 years or so. And also a . There everything was blended but still sounded top, even in louzy quality. The cd was damn expensive so I never bought it. Glad to have this nice vinyl now! The colour blend results in some audible pops between the tracks but when the powerful music is playing it's inaudible. This is punk, not ambient or classical music, so I don't mind. Really worth its price! -

This pressing is fine, I don't know what people are whining about. I prefer original copies, but i've been looking for a clean copy of this for years and years. Yes the cover artwork is a scan of a cd cover, but 200 for a beat up original or 35 bucks for this reissue that sounds great. Not a hard decision in this case.
