My copy has exact same matrix number as listed here but the label has small ring near the spindle hole (like this one: https://discogs.versitio.com/release/4949096-Stan-Getz-Charlie-Byrd-Jazz-Samba). Is there different batch of pressing using different label? Sound wise this is one of these demo disc in my collection despite some marks and tick/pop noises. -

Nice looking coloured pressing but the sound is so, so. Based on my listening experience I would say that some size compressed digital files were used. Reminds me of the audio CDs I was burning from MP3s. Listenable but not really great.
Also, the bonus track at the end is totally out of place.
I would recommend an used old pressing or a new legit one. -
Very odd mastering, it's very clean sounding, but has a dip in the mids and the high end was pushed a bit too much which has the unfortunate effect of making the reverb much more prominent. The resulting missing presence in the guitar and saxophone combined with the louder reverb kills the intimacy, making the band sound a bit further away. It sounds completely different than my 1963 Verve copy or what is found on streaming platforms nowadays. The CD that comes with it has less of the high end lift and a better low mid range, but still lacks the overall feel of other masters I've heard. While these other, more "original" masters could benefit from a bit of lift in the highs and more conservative mids, I think in this case it was overdone.

Hello. I would like to ask if any of you have noticed that these vinyl sets with Acoustic Sound are spinning unevenly, so let's say they have waves. I've listened through all the Acoustic Sound I've bought. As long as Ben Webster Soulville Acoustic sound. Oskar Peterson we get requests Acoustic sound. and also this vinyl Jazz Samba Stan Getz Charlie Byrd Acoustic Sound is waves when it spins. Thanks if someone answers this question

Copied from HRAudio.net. Mastered by George Marino at Sterling Sound from the original master tapes to vinyl and PCM. The DSD was sourced from the PCM. George listened to all of the different A/D converters he had before he chose which to use, and he felt the George Massenburg GML 20 bit A/D produced the best and most synergistic sound for the project.

Edited 2 months agoThe music is iconic and so easy to listen to. This 20 bit edition uses the same source as this early West German, Stan Getz / Charlie Byrd - Jazz Samba. Regardless, this hold up as a stand alone. The single version of Desafindo belongs elsewhere.

A worthy edition but it has been noise reduced, fortunately, not to the detriment of the music. Compared to this edition, Stan Getz / Charlie Byrd - Jazz Samba, minus the single. -

Very nice sound and of course, playing. This original beats the pants off any re-issue that I've heard. The midrange is so much cleaner and transparent than the AP re-issue. The only thing holding it back is a bit of boomy bass that is only exaggerated on the re-issues.
