Tool (2) – Opiate

How is it possible that official releases are way cheaper ?

17$ Median? Thought this would be more rare. Different dark label with the x-ray, unlike the reissues.

I was not prepared for the number of slight variations on these pressings but my copy seems to match this one.

Side A mix sounds like absolute garbage. Side B sounds much better. Obviously the first two tracks on sB are live, but even Opiate and TGLE sound better than all of sA.

First impression is it is a bit on the quiet side volume wise and when you do give it some juice is just seems a little flat like someone mentioned earlier. The live recordings however do sound pretty decent as well as the last two songs on the B side so that's a plus. I know how good a Tool pressing can sound and this just isn't it but the B side is pretty solid. It is very quiet in between songs and the record is super flat. Overall I'm pleased with it and would recommend for us Tool fans. Happy 60th MJK!!!

my copy is quite noiseless and flat. this is a pressing that increased the level of the joy i get from listening this album. it has surprises and emphasizes the right tones for me.

Flat. Noisy and pretty lifeless to be honest. What a noisy record!

Solid album/pressing. Agree with others that this is a good one to get given Tool's record with vinyl.

Won't Discogs put an end to pop.market listing all new pressings for anywhere from $7-$17 for this release? It really skews the data and it's super lazy and dishonest to sell them under this release.

Just received my $6.99 copy from Amazon today. Verified decent copy. Not my favorite Tool release, but happy to have it added to my collection.
