on this CD, the first edition had a red jewel case -
Nice little release. This appears to be the first time that this soundtrack/score has been on vinyl and I think they did a very good job with it. The sound quality is surprisingly good and the presentation is very nice. The artwork on the gatefold jacket is crisp and the two different colored LPs look good even though the colors don’t fit the aesthetic too well. I was only familiar with a few of the tracks on the album, which I knew I would enjoy. But, there were a good number of unfamiliar tracks that I really enjoyed, especially the Batman Overture. I forgot how good the main theme was for this movie and I would have liked more. I could have done without the 10 minute Moaner track, though. That track made me feel like I was going insane... in a bad way.

Some good cuts off of here, obviously Smashing Pumpkins but also Soul Coughing and REM. The inclusion of Elliot Goldenthal's Batman Suite is a bonus. The film may have been garbage but as a preteen I loved it. There were plenty of songs I immediately skipped as they played (R.Kelly, Jewel etc) and the second disc (blue) was a bit warped. Luckily it didn't effect the sound quality of the last Smashing Pumpkins cut (The Beginning is the End is the Beginning) but is something that should be noted. Also, it should be noted that I live in upstate NY where the weather has been cooler as of late and the RSD Drop 2 was a bit chilly. The temperature in my home hasn't been above 60 lately so this warp was from the factory or shipping and not of my own carelessness (which I'll it has happened in the past during the summer).

Edited 4 years agoSounds pretty good. And as a Bone Thugs n Harmony fan, it's nice to have this version with the alternate Krayzie Bone verse.

This release is absolute trash. Seriously...you put edited versions of songs on here?!?!? I would have never purchased this had I known. Garbage.

Vinyl pressing coming this April for Record Store Day. Hopefully I'll be able to get this. One of the only good things associated with this crappy movie. -

Moloko's song Fun For Me is my favorite track, obviously, but I also like Underworld's song Moaner and Arkarna's song House On Fire.
