Poco (3) – Legend

Too much treble. Bad equalization. I wish It did not sound like that. Pinckneyville Pressing.

Sorry, I like Mobile Fidelity but I don't like their mastering on this release. Smiley-faced EQ full steam ahead. Way too bright which was the very last thing this recording needed. Oh yeah, and the bass is too boomy.

Went through about 10 copies of this album before I landed the one that beat them all, this Specialty pressing. This copy plays virtually noise free, something that can't be said for most other copies.

An amazing amount of depth and fidelity in this pressing. Decent bass and strong vocals in the mix- I'm impressed with how this sounds. Boomerang, Spellbound, Crazy Love, and Heart of the Night are all solid tunes that sound great on this vinyl release.

Luckily I founded a sealed copy, with a cutoff up in the right corner; but it sound fabulous. Very well recorded and a pretty good pressing.

By far my favorite Poco album. Oddly it's not as coveted by many Poco devotees. Maybe this is because the band was for all intents defunct at the time of the recording, only retaining Cotton and Young. Fun fact,, the album cover artist was Phil Hartman of Saturday Night Live fame. This MFSL release is hands down the best of the releases I've run across. It's more articulate but still retains that warm 70's sound. Worth the slight for a good copy.

Sounds incredible! The elevated MFSL standard truly shines through on this release.

The group's best album featuring Eagles bass player Timothy B. Schmidt. Outstanding performance just prior to ing the Eagles.

Poco doesnt seem to get much love these days but picked this up for cheap & in my humble opinion this record sounds incredible.

The cover artwork was designed by Philip Hartmann who later gained fame as Phil Hartman on Saturday Night Live.
