Kemet

Profile:

UK-based Jungle label from Tottenham, London. Kemet's first release was at the end of 1992 and they had several classic releases between 1993-95 before closing the label in 1997. The label reopened in 2000 with a series of reissues, moved into ragga-tinged new school D&B, and closed once again, with the final release being four old school ragga-jungle tracks from the Kemet vaults which were previously unreleased outside of Japan. The label relaunched in 2016. Also meaning of Kemet means A number of names were used for Egypt in ancient times. A popular ancient name for Egypt was "Kemet," which means the "black land." Scholars generally believe that this name derives from the fertile soil that is left over when the Nile flood recedes in August.

Brilliant label, just class, pure class. Not only in tunes but in production quality, Kemet are the dons of the reggae slanted jungle tunes, championing artists such as remarc and missing. Love em to bits.

Do your self a favour and get from 5 to 14 all top top tunes that really capture vibes of 93 to 94 perfectly. One of if not the best label from back in the day
