Harmony Disc Record

Chicago-based U.S. mail order label, established in 1907.

Harmony Disc Records could only be played on phonographs with an outsized, 9/16-inch spindle-hole. The phonographs were given away for free as long as the customer bought a certain number of Harmony Disc Records. All releases were reissues of Columbia recordings.

By 1912 the label name had changed to "Harmony Record", the company name to Harmony Talking Machine Co., and the address to 618 S. Dearborn St. in Chicago (basically next-door to a similar label, United Record at 608 S. Dearborn St.).

In 1916, the label merged with other, similar labels to form the Consolidated Talking Machine Co. of Chicago.
