Edited 4 years agoI don't know when this page was updated the last time, but their website is "under construction"... Doesn't seem to get a lot of traffic. Who.is told me Creation Date: 2000-02-15 Updated Date: 2019-05-30
Not that any of that really matters. Except maybe that it came to me as a shock they actually have a website. -
I've come across a couple of releases by sub labels of this company while browsing Spotify and well... I am kinda fascinated now with how this company is operating in the year 2020.
It's probably terribly boring and will mimic other similar situations: The original label fails, trademarks/copyright/publishing get transferred over to a new company and the owners of the new company keep releasing compilations of older material. I'm not even sure if the sub-labels even employ in-house producers at this stage, something they were apparently notorious for in the nineties (5th Gear, Dance Factory).
Can't say much about the quality of the older releases, but what I've seen/heard on Spotify wasn't very good. -

Rams Horn knew what the dance crowd wished for the floor. I got all their stuff from 1980 when I started dj-ing until 1985 when they got bankruptcy and started soon again. After a few 12" I noticed 99 % of this label got the real 80's dancefloor sound and I can buy every record without listening to it. I visited the company about once a year from 1980 until 1984. They feed me with all with the needed 12" imported stuff from the USA and I've to thank them a lot for my dj career in the 80's. Their vinyl got still a big place in my collection and everybody who sees this big pink pack in my shelves ask me, whether I got one record for 300 times, but this is my Rams Horn vinyl which I won't want to miss in my collection and which I still love to listen to after 30 years and more than a 100 times of spinning!

Super super ????????????. Back in the earlier '80 was that the disco label. Beautiful mixes and remixes where on that label to find.
Enjoy still, when I hear the music from that label.
Thanks,.. Rams horn records for all that good music☺️ -

This has to be one of my favorite labels. The sound quality from their records is perfect and they (re)released so many classics and also some great but extremely obscure music. Rams Horn will be missed.

Edited 12 years agoA sad end to what was a quality label. Every thing from the pressings, vinyl used and the remixes were pure class. At the very last stage of life there were 5 complete sets of the whole catalog for sale from there website for only 2000 euros per set. I should have got one when I had the chance.

Well the rebooted version of this label claims to be a direct descendant of the original label, but I've got my doubts. It'll probably be something like the current Atari, the trademark traded hands several times and finally someone thought of using it (in the case of Atari, Infogrames/GT interactive if you must know).
In any case: the current version seems like some large scam and not like a proper label. -
This famous disco label of the early 80's had a sad and embarrassing comeback this year, with awful trance versions of long gone italo disco hits by Klein & MBO e.g.
this skeleton should have been left in the closet.
