    My comment on Reeno:

Quote: "Mastering from vinyl rips is a TERRIBLE practice"

I do not agree with that. If mastering is done right, it is possible to get close to the original mastertape sound from back in the day. But of course the quality of the recording on vinyl must be great, the record must be in a strong VG+ state or better, and of course you have to know exactly what has to be done to make the sound quality match the original recording.

If you are curious, I can send you a fragment of a remastered vinylrip in high quality. And you'll be the judge if it's done properly. ;-)

I know for sure that PTG has licensing rights, I helped with their last 80s Soul Classics. It's Vol. 8 & my friend Francis from the U.K, who helps compile their compilations. told me that some of the songs on the original tracklisting couldn't get licensing rights. He personally told me that they can only work with Sony related labels and indie labels. If you don't believe me about me helping PTG out on 80s Soul Classics, Vol. 8, buy the CD and look inside the booklet, my name will be on there [Matthew Chance]
