Mercury Custom Recording Studio

Profile:

Recording studio started in 1970 in Nashville, Tennessee, USA

In 1969, both Columbia/CBS studios were extremely busy. Their artists were having difficulty in booking studio time. A decision was made to quit offering the studios to outside clients. This left Mercury Records and other labels in a bind. A group of Nashville businessmen along with former Columbia engineer, Tom Sparkman, would build Mercury Custom Recording in 1970.
The studio was later named Sound Stage Studios.
