The Paramount Theatre is a 2,807-seat performing arts venue and theater located at 9th Avenue and Pine Street in Seattle, Washington, USA. The theater originally opened on March 1, 1928 as the Seattle Theatre with 3,000 seats. The Paramount was built expressly for showing film and secondarily, vaudeville. On March 14, 1930, after only two years in business, its name was changed to the Paramount Theatre to conform with the Publix Theatre chain's policy of giving the grandest of its theaters in each city that name. |
