I suspect that many of those complaining here about the quality of the pressings are dealers upset that rare and expensive tunes have become available in their best mixes at a good price. I have had no problems with the pressings or sound quality for any of the releases on this label. It's a great selection too.

I’ve Notice Most of the pressings looks Like they were Splatter. Funny Looking waves on the Direct Vinyl when you hold it to the light. a lot of Surface Mark. Looks like they Use Recycle vinyl. and Bad sonically Press Records why Bother to Reissue

I heard they now changed the mastering studio so the new releases should sound much better, also sometimes the poor quality is due to the master files that the label are able to get when they get the license.

Mastering on these is indeed terrible. I've own 3 of these (GR 1221, 1235, 1239) but all sound flat and no dynamics at all. You have to turn the gain knob to an uncomfortable point to get any sound at all. Such a shame and doesn't any justice to the great tracks by phenomenal artist. A waste of resources and money if you'd ask me. I'm not buying again from GROOVIN.

Edited 5 years agoGroovin Recordings / Dark Groove needs to improve their mastering. Very flat and lifeless, even on the 45 RPM 12"s.,
Appears to be charging a "Made In Italy" tax / without the class or quality product to justify it. -
Edited 6 years agoBEWARE!!
Pressing defect on a brand new copy of "Glenn Undrerground" GR1224.
i will never by a record from them again! -
got a few of these and must say im not even checking any further - the sound quality of these reissues makes the sought after originals even more expensive ;/

Is this label legit? Seems like an awful lot of reissues of sought after records, not pressed very well and sometimes licensed from weird places.
