Blu-Disc
Profile: |
Blu-Disc records were produced by an unknown manufacturer for the Blu-Disc Record Company of New York and are extremely rare today. Only nine releases were produced, and all of these appeared in December, 1924. These included Duke Ellington's earliest known recordings. Original Blu-Disc records were pressed in very dark blue shellac, and are easily distinguished from later dubbed reissues that also credit the Blu-Disc Record Company, or those on the similarly named Blue Disc label, which were pressed in black vinyl. |
