incredible comments guys, thanks!
honestly until recently I didn't know someone took the time to list all of these on Discogs.
I have a few of these selections available for sale. some of them are very rare (these days)!

I miss those weekends when i'd hope to have enough money to get in the party, get my party supplies & at least one or four tapes from Ken. I still have a shoe box with old Tron, Delta9, Ron D Core & a few others in my closet. Tapes are slowly coming back and it'd be rad to own all the tapes i use to have. ( the bulk of them got jacked out of my car at some warehouse party in DTLA in 1996-97 ) Those tapes Ken sold, the parties & all the people i met were some of the best & craziest times of my life. RIP DJ TRON FUCK EDM! HARDCORE WILL NEVER DIE!!!

Edited 11 years agoSo many of my teenage nights were spent listening to the various trance, techno, and hardcore mixtapes I picked up through Pure Acid Mixtapes. I can hardly convey my massive appreciation to Ken and his series of mixtapes. As DJ Frodo explained, cassettes have since fallen off the map, and many of my old tapes are in pretty bad shape nowadays. But I keep them around for all the memories (and it's fair to say I've copied them all into MP3s).
Anyway, MASSIVE thanks to Pure Acid Mixtapes. You influenced my musical and cultural growth as a teenager. -

Ken/Pure Acid should be hailed as a cornerstone of the rave scene. He purchased mixtapes from DJ's around the world and shared the love to us. To many of us, those tapes we purchased are now worth more than diamonds (atleast the ones that survived!)
To some, it was questionable if it was a label. And it is, partially. Ken often worked with the DJ's and got the master from them and produced copies with the Pure Acid logo, and generally pushed for a playlist too. This took the hassle out of calling up the DJ and shipping out more tapes.
While there are many imitators, Pure Acid is the one that started it all, and helped boost many a DJ into stardom through his sells & promotions.
Even as the cassette industry has died down, Pure Acid was the peak of the cassette days and Ken & his propeller hat will not soon be forgotten.
Thanks for ALL the good memories!
