US label, founded in New York in 1937 as Jefferson Travis Radio Corporation, incorporated in 1942, later Musicraft Recording Corporation from 1947. Jazz became more prominent in the repertory after Sarah Vaughn. Musicraft filed for bankruptcy in 1948.
In the 1970s, the label was revived by Albert Marx, by then president of I Don't Stand A Ghost Of A Chance
