Zeida was created in Medellín, Colombia, on July 1st, 1950, and later became a sub-label of Codiscos, one of the biggest Colombian record companies. "Zeida" is the last name of its founder, Alfredo Diez, spelled backwards with his first name's initial added.
NB. Zeida used different logos over the years, still the same label.
When both Zeida and Codiscos logos are printed on release, enter both labels separately.
For the Peruvian and international label of Zeida please use Codiscos Zeida.
Series of tropical and vallenato music created at the end of 1968 and whose first volume was published on November 10, 1969. Like its competition, "14 Cañonazos Bailables" produced by the "Fuentes" label, was of a cultural and experimental nature as varied, original and different product. According to tradition, only the most important songs of the year are published in this collection, many of which were published in singles or various albums, considered rarities by many people. At the same time, many of the artists debuted for the first time. For example, in the first volume the first three founding artists of the "Costeño" label of "Zeida" (Codiscos) debuted. Originally the songs selected were vallenatos or tropical, but at the end of the 70s salsa songs were included and later in the 80s and 90s, pop, rock and reggeaton songs were included. Today, in the 2000s, popular songs are being included for the first time. Among the artists who have formed this special collection, classics stand out such as: ALFREDO GUTIERREZ, CALIXTO OCHOA, LOS EXITOS, BINOMIO DE ORO, JUAN PIÑA, COMBO DE LAS ESTRELLAS, HERMANOS MARTELO, EKHYMOSIS, VILMA PALMA, GRUPO NICHE, GRUPO GALE, LOS CLAVES, JUAN CARLOS CORONEL, LOS GRADUADOS, JAIME LEY, ALCIDES DIAZ, GRUPO BANANAS, MANICOMIO DE VARGAS VIL and many more... Today, 43 years later, it remains one of the most beloved and special products that the label has produced " Zeida."
