Throughout the Antler-Subway labels, Dance Opera, Beat Box, Transmission and other associated labels came a handful of underground techno that was a big part of the early scene. Cold Sensation's "Liquid Empire" is one of those classics, an industrial styled Nu-Beat stomper, which used loops from The Minutemen's "O.K. Alright" and could not be denied. For the early scene in Brooklyn, Phantasia's "Violet Skies" was an underground anthem, and though the back catalog is filled with useless experiments in electronic music, there was always a defining moment. Probably #3 after, Music Man & R&S, Dance Opera still deserves to be recognized as a Belgium pioneer, for being there when the scene just started.
