Very nice mainly second-hand cd-only shop. Good prices and always nice things to find. They also got some new records.

Used to be a CD "library" lending out CD's, now selling new CD's and used CD's + vinyl. As eclectic as it gets. From Schlager to 90's techno. Fair prices. 2nd hand selection varying from time to time, depending on lots bought by the shop. Found some nice records there once.

Cute little shop with a friendly owner. Used to come there once in a while to get old early 90's dance CD maxi-singles, but I haven't seen those there in a while. Mostly specializing in collectibles and used 60s/70s/80s rock and pop vinyl. Also sells new and used CD's.

Shop and record label Double Dance Records sublabel. The store mostly sells the après-ski and accessible dance stuff. I have only visited the store once a couple of months ago, as it's at some distance of the city center and the selection didn't appeal to me.

Jake's Music Center
Gone for some years now (bankruptcy of the original independent store announced in July 2002) , but one of the best independent record stores I had ever visited. Friendly, knowledgeable, openminded owners and employees and an amazingly wide selection spanning all thinkable genres (which unfortunately probably has killed them). All CD, but you could special-order any format available. The downfall began when a music chain took over the store after its bankruptcy and slowly started replacing the CD's with DVD's and eventually even that store closed down too. It was a short-lived adventure, but I have bought some of my best music there in the early 00's. When I came into the store often one of the first things I would ask was what music was playing in the store. Often I would walk out with that CD, or the music inspired me to buy other related stuff. Ah the memories.

Bullit closed down earlier this year (2008).
It's since re-opened as a smaller venture, sharing premises with a musical instruments/guitar shop. They have some secondhand vinyl but a much smaller selection, a couple hundred LP or so but I haven't visited it yet so I don't know for sure. The new address is:
