Going there in a couple of weeks and wondering if there are still any decent stores? Two of my fave stores Goldy and Boomtown have closed (just their Van store now) in the past year. Goldy was especially awesome. Great selection of everything and anything, long hours, records just piled everywhere. A nice throwback by some guys who sure loved records.

Anybody know if these stores are worth checking out?

    Ditch
    Whitebird
    The Turntable
    It Sounds better on Wax
    Lyle's Place
    Amadeus

New i'm up for recent minimal, techno, downtempo, spacey disco and electro and old i'm up for just about anything especially italo, disco, synth, minimal electronic and old detroit and chicago records. Like 99% of the people here. But also like a lot of experimental avant garde stuff as well.

I know this topic is outdated, but I thought I'd clarify the current state of Victoria record stores.

Ditch is your best bet for everything from indie rock to hip-hop vinyl, with limited dancefloor music.
Whitebird has limited new selections but carries a rather impressive backstock of d&b / house / garage / etc.
The Turntable carries a huge selection of classic rock / jazz / funk / etc.
I.S.B.O.W. recently closed it's doors for good (it was owned by a good friend of mine.)
Lyle's Place has a very limited selection of classic rock re-releases, it has a great CD selection though.
Amadeus no longer exists to my knowledge.
