I just got back from my vacation in Brighton. I bought some very good music at Covert's. Small place but huge choice and very nice personnel. With one of them i went to an afterparty after Kliks @ Audio where Magda played last week on friday. Nice city aswell.

Rare Kind Records (not sure about the name).
On North Road, toward the gardens near Old Steine. Recommended too, huge hip-hop choice, there's also a gallery next to them. Very friendly and very good prices. They must now have a website.

I really cannot recommend this place highly enough. Have been shopping here for over eight years and keep coming back simply because I seem to always get what I want. Very knowledgable and friendly staff, large selections of 12' vinyl of various genres from IDM to Nu-Jazz to Drum & Bass, DVD's (movies and music docs, etc) and of course a massive CD selection. Good place to get tickets for most of the events in and around our beautiful city, and pretty near the beach too so you can go for a paddle after (but don't forget to leave your vinyl somewhere safe or the sun might bend it!).

Straight down Queens Street to the 'clocktower' and turn left down North Street. Keep on the right side and look out for Meeting House Lane (very small pedestrian walkway between two buildings). Walk past Tootsies on your left and come to a left walkway leading to Brighton Square where you will find Rounders opposite.

    Enjoy :]

Yeah, sadly Covert is the latest vinyl purveying victim in Brighton. It closed down this summer. As did Infinite records, just round the corner.

But well worth checking for similar genres and vibe is Hedonizm Records on Trafalgar Street.

Find the main Brighton train station and there's a road that runs underneath it- that's Trafalgar Street. Follow that down a way and Hedonizm's on the left towards to the bottom of the road.
