    Hello.

So I've been trying to figure out with some soundtracks that I've come across whether they should be listed under Various.

This Daniel Lanois. 9 of the 14 songs on it are his compositions for the score and the rest are songs by other artists.

I suppose this could be both? Daniel Lanois and Various

Also it's both score and soundtrack? As the DL songs are written as non-diegetic (score) and the other songs are diegetic (soundtrack). I realize that a score in a film is also considered a soundtrack but most of us know that there is a difference even if the manufacturers print either/or as a "soundtrack". Or at least they used to.

I've seen this before on other releases and it never looked correct to me.

    Any thoughts?

Various alone is fine - as no one is is billed as the main artist.

Various can really only be used by itself per - Daniel Lanois isn't billed as the main artist, so shouldn't be credited as such - even with having the majority of the tracks.

If this was a release that was Daniel Lanois and one other artist, then I wouldn't have an issue making it a split release using a / er. But that isn't what this release is. This is sometimes seen where you have the composer's score tracks and some song tracks from a singular band/artist.

Now - the EU version may be up for a change in Main Artist - as he does appear to be billed as such, along with "guests".
