Jane Brown Thompson

Lyrics based on a poem written by Jane Brown Thompson in 1924, became the popular song "I Get Along Without You Very Well" when composed and published by Hoagy Carmichael in 1939. As legend has it, she died the night before it was to debut on the radio on January 19, 1939, and missed the opportunity to hear “her” own song being performed.
